Paint Company Splashes Out On Nissan

The award-winning Primera has helped Nissan clinch a two-year, three-badge deal to supply cars to paint giant, Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings Ltd.

Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings is a leading manufacturer in the UK, with well known top quality brands such as Crown, Sandtex and Sadolin. Nissan has been supplying Primeras, Almeras and Maxima QXs to its fleet of 550 cars, controlled from Darwen, Lancs, for three years.

This relationship was extended once Akzo Nobel had the chance to see the British-built Primera, which scooped BBC Top Gear Magazine’s Best Medium Car 2002 award, in action. 14 new Primeras have already joined the Akzo Nobel fleet, with more orders in the pipeline.

The company’s Commercial Buyer, Sue Fielding, said: "We were very impressed with the quality, performance, specification and style of the Primera and, in addition, the commercial terms were competitive."

Nissan Fleet Sales Director, Dave Murfitt, added: "I’m delighted that Akzo Nobel has chosen to extend its relationship with Nissan. I’m confident that Primera, as well as Almera, will prove to be a very popular choice amongst Akzo Nobel company car drivers."
