Zeta vanCONTROLLER gains VOSA Type Approval for Speed Limiter

Published: 14th February 2008

With as many as 1/3rd of road traffic incidents involving drivers at work, employers have a duty of care to ensure all steps have been taken to minimise accidents at work. Speed limiters are one of the single most effective methods of increasing driver safety.

The cost savings of speed limiters are well established, with fleet operators reporting savings of an average of 5.5%, this is a typical saving of £200 p.a. on a vehicle which covers 20k miles p.a. at 30m.p.g.

Zeta's vanCONTROLLER, designed to provide speed limiting plus a range of engine management functions on all commercial vehicles and private cars has been appraised by VOSA and is now fully certified.

The unit offers drivers and fleet managers increased peace of mind along with reduced fuel costs, longer engine and vehicle life and reduced accidents.

vanCONTROLLER has been approved in accordance with European Council Directive 92/24/EEC, relating to speed limitation on-board systems of certain categories of vehicles.

This standard of design, testing, development, and production ensures that a speed limiter performs to legal requirements and standards. Now, when implementing speed limitation, buyers can be sure of high quality engineering and performance, leading to increased driver safety alongside reduced costs.

The Type Approved speed limiter is part of the vanCONTROLLER, a single solution, multi-functional control system for engine control. Use of the system allows increased driver safety and convenience, fuel saving and reduced engine and vehicle wear.

vanCONTROLLERs range of functions includes:

* Single Speed Limiting
* Multiple Speed Limiting
* Engine RPM Limiting
* Engine PTO Control
* Engine Keyout
* Engine Idle cut-out
* Vehicle Ant-hijack System
