Ensure that your car is safe and legal. That is the message being given to motorists by XPart as it offers motorists the opportunity for a free, comprehensive vehicle safety check at any one of its 185 AutoService centres. The service is being offered as part of a drive to ensure motorists remain safe and legal in the spring, a time when there is are high levels of breakdown and accidents due to heavy rain and slippery roads.

During the health check, XPart’s factory-trained technicians carry out visual inspection on safety-critical components such as tyres, brakes, lights, steering, suspension and the engine to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe and legal state. Technicians use a ‘traffic light’ colour coded report to identify any necessary action, highlighting which items are OK, which items may need replacing in the near future, and which items, usually for safety or legal reason, require immediate attention.

According to regional Government accident statistics, May is one of the top three months for road accidents and second highest for child pedestrian deaths. “As the weather improves and people start to travel more, we want to ensure that their cars are safe and legal and can stop quickly and under control,” commented Charles Binns, sales and marketing director. “By offering a free health check, we can give motorists the confidence and peace of mind that their car is safe to drive or highlight any work which needs to be carried out now or in the near future. This allows the owner to budget for any expenditure and prepare so the work to be carried out at a convenient time rather than it taking them by surprise.”

As an added incentive to motorists, anyone booking their vehicle in for a health check before 31st March 2006 can claim a free Xtra Safety Kit, worth up to £28, if they visit the XPart AutoService centre web site (www.xpartautoservicecentre.com) and download a voucher to take with them during their visit. The Xtra Safety Kit includes items such as a tow rope, high visibility jacket and a set of battery jump leads, ensuring that motorists continue to be safe and legal while on their travels.

“Although XPart offers specialist service and repair for MG Rover vehicles, the healthcheck and Xtrakit offers are available to all motorists”, added Binns. “Our range of All-makes products is designed to offer high quality, value for money products and consumables for all makes of vehicles”.

Motorists looking to take advantage of the XPart health check can do so at any one of XPart’s 185 AutoService centres nationwide. Locations of the centre can be found by visiting www.xpartautoservicecentre.com
