Another Fleet Industry Accolade For Tracker
Published: 29th January 2005
From 1995 to 2003, TRACKER picked up the prestigious Security gong. In 2004, this category was refocused and renamed as the Tracking award to reflect the wider remit of modern vehicle systems in providing increased visibility of fleets as well as stolen cars. Even with this new slant, TRACKER has proven to be the firm favourite for the second consecutive year.
The Fleet Excellence Awards are organised by leading business publications Fleet Week, Fleet Management and What Van? Fleet and are voted for by the readers, who are key motor industry figures and vehicle fleet operators.
Tristan Young, editor of Fleet Week, commented: "TRACKER has won the Tracking award for the second year in row. Quite a result but if you add this brace to the previous nine wins in the Security award category it takes the company’s real tally to 11 Fleet Excellence Awards in 11 years - a truly amazing record."
Parita Patel, TRACKER’s marketing communications manager, said: "To receive a Fleet Excellence award for the eleventh consecutive year is an incredibly proud achievement for TRACKER. Last year saw the launch of two new stolen vehicle recovery systems and 2005 promises to be yet another productive year not only in the stolen vehicle recovery arena but also in the vehicle asset management field."
TRACKER operates four stolen vehicle recovery products for vehicles or plant equipment and two for motorcycles. They are operated by the UK’s 52 police forces and are approved by 36 motor manufacturers. To date, nearly 13,000 stolen vehicles have been retrieved, valued at £250million. In the process, more than 1,700 vehicle thieves have been arrested. The company also offers vehicle asset management systems designed to enable fleet operators to manage their fleets more efficiently and cost effectively.
