Owen Developments To Expand Into Europe
Published: 5th January 2005
Oxfordshire based Owen Developments are to expand their sales operation in 2005 by exporting their products and services to European markets.
Owen Developments are automotive performance enhancing specialists who design and develop OE components for manufacturers, motorsport teams and UK retail and trade customers.
Brian Owen, managing director said, "Due to the success of our business over many years as an OE supplier to the UK market and the publicity and word-of-mouth recommendations from trade and retail customers, there has been a significant increase recently in demand to supply the retail and trade markets in Europe. We now aim to promote and grow our business further by officially exporting our products and services."
"We will supply single performance-enhancing products on a one off basis, either via our new website, which will be launched in early January 2005 enabling easy contact between ourselves and our customers, or by telephone if that is preferable."
"To ensure correct fitment, and therefore satisfied customers, we think at this stage we should be supplying European distributors of vehicles, franchised and non-franchised dealers and tuning shops with our products. The demand is there, all we have to do is satisfy the demand."
"We are the only officially appointed Garrett Performance Centre for the UK, and currently Europe. We already provide the full range of Garrett GT ball bearing turbochargers to UK and European motorsport teams both for racing and rallying, along with the world renowned MoTeC programmable ECUs and HKS Power Writer services to name but two."
Owen continued, "Having sold thousands of upgrades to UK customers, we will initially be supplying power upgrades for Mitsubishi L200 Pick Ups, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Isuzu Rodeo 4x4 Pick Ups. These are relatively easy to fit and currently the most in demand. We will also supply more sophisticated performance-enhancing systems such as our Lancer Evo FQ and MR 405bhp packages, both to the European OE, motorsport and tuning markets."
The Mitsubishi L200 and Pajero Sport performance upgrade adds 24 bhp at 4,116 rpm and 26 lb/ft of torque at 3,102 rpm. Retail price is €610.00 plus delivery.
The Isuzu Rodeo upgrade adds 30bhp and 56lb/ft of torque. Retail price is €552.60 plus delivery. Trade discounts will be based on the number of kits a trade customer requires.
Owen Developments, well known for their Lancer Evolution FQ and MR performance upgrades, will now supply European customers with any one of their four performance packages ranging from 330bhp up to 450bhp.
Subaru Impreza performance upgrades ranging from 300-350 or even 400bhp will also become available in 2005.
