Don't Be A Fool This April 1st

Published: 25th March 2005

Launching at midnight on April 1st, 2005, car buyers visiting www.broadspeed.com will be able to bid on a selection of brand new or unused pre-registered vehicles.

Co-operation with car dealer groups and fleet companies has resulted in unique auction process offering a choice of pre-registered, delivery mileage Renault Scenic 1.9 DCi Dynamique 120 PS (the desirable model) with bids starting at just £1!

Three UK-supplied Scenics are available in metallic Flame Red, Platinum Silver, or in Norse Grey. Each has the balance of Renault UK’s 3-Year Warranty, and will be doorstep delivered FREE of charge (within 200 miles of Birmingham, then + £1pm).

Broadspeed MD Simon Empson commented:

"We are quite prepared to sell these cars for £1 each".

"The list price, whose full specification is listed on the Broadspeed web site, is £17,895. Broadspeed regularly helps its buyers achieve discounts of 15%- 30% on new cars, but in this case the final sale price will be literally "the true market value".

Empson continued:

"This is just the first of a regular online car auction - we plan to place popular and prestige cars in front of 50,000 buyers who log onto www.broadspeed.com weekly.

Overstocks and discounts have become a regular feature of the UK new car market. I expect Broadspeed to play a growing role in connecting car companies with car buyers prepared to pay a true market price".

How it works

Buyers can bid on any of the three colours available. Broadspeed requires advance card details when placing their bid, but a £500 deposit is only required from a winning bidder when the auction closes at 11:59pm precisely on 30th April 2005.

Once the £500 deposit is received, the buyer is not expected to pay ANYTHING until the vehicle is collected from or delivered by the Renault supplier - at which stage the outstanding balance is payable by banker’s draft (or advance bank transfer).

Should the delivered car not match Broadspeed’s description exactly, the buyer will be able to cancel the sale and receive a full refund of any moneys paid. Full terms and conditions are published online; bids are only accepted from registered buyers.
