MOMO Track Attack

Published: 1st April 2007
Major UK motorsport programme supports new MOMO racing line

With a history steeped in motorsport, top Italian tuning and style brand MOMO is back on the racing line, with a full blooded UK track presence in support of its recently launched range of motorsport racewear, team clothing and race equipment.

Hot on the heels of announcing its official supplier status to Vauxhall’s VX Racing team in this year’s British Touring Car Championship, MOM0 in the UK has taken the wraps of a two-car assault in the top single marque series, the Elf Renault Clio Cup. Accompanying the BTCC tour, last year’s race meetings pulled a trackside audience of over 280,000.

Entered by sole UK MOMO distributor, MOMO UK, the two Clio Renaultsport 197s showcase the famous MOMO logo that has been seen in top-flight motorsport for over forty years.

The brace of Clios will be driven by MOMO UK distributor and former Production and Historic Saloon Car Champion, Sean Brown, and his 18-year old son Robert.  Despite his lack of years, Robert already banked his first kart championship title and finished third overall in the SaxMax Championship last year - his first season of saloon car competition.

Despite his enthusiasm and race success, for Sean Brown the MOMO Clio race team is strictly business: “MOMO is a very strong, fast road enthusiast brand and also a supplier of top rate motorsport equipment, race and team wear,” he explains.

“We’re focused on generating MOMO brand exposure in the enthusiast environment and building MOMO UK distribution”, Sean continues, “and both the Vauxhall and Clio Cup relationships are invaluable ways of doing so.  At the wheel of the Clio, you could say I’m literally steering the business!”

The Clio Cup supports all British Touring Car Championship race meetings, and the opening rounds are flagged away this Saturday/Sunday, 31st March/April 1st at Brands Hatch.
