Innovative And Competitive Breakdown Cover Packages

  • Follow Successful Launch of GEM Motoring Assist
  • Now Roadside Recovery Starts at Just £28

LEADING road safety organisation the Guild of Experienced Motorists has followed the well-received launch if its new trading name GEM Motoring Assist by announcing a selection of breakdown/recovery schemes that are economic, effective and designed to meet the differing motoring needs of the safety conscious public.

GEM has offered a recovery service for many decades, based on a pay and reclaim concept that has earned plaudits for both its keen price and efficiency.

GEM has now developed complimentary recovery schemes that present a much more extensive range of benefits, most of which do not require payment by the motorist to the recovery garage.

In every case (where they can be compared with more traditional services from other roadside recovery and home start providers) the GEM alternative has a very competitive pricing structure for an unequalled service. At its most economic level GEM Motoring Assist breakdown cover costs just £28 if application if made via the GEM website on www.motoringassist.com.

This option - called Roadside - includes assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year following a breakdown, running out of fuel or flat tyres anywhere in the UK and if the vehicle cannot be repaired it will be recovered, along with up to six passengers, to a local garage.

Notably, it is the driver not the vehicle that is protected by GEM Motoring Assist and the organisation will rescue any age of vehicle and provide cover even if the car is on loan to the member.

A further advantage for the principled motorist who is keen to play an effective role in furthering safety of all road users is the commitment of GEM to its charitable arm. The registered GEM Road Safety Charity uses membership income to fund the production of free road safety leaflets, sponsor research and campaigns, and recognise those who work for a better travel environment.

The high value new services do require membership of GEM (normally £17) per annum. This is included in the cost of breakdown cover and brings with it a wide variety of services and special offers (www.motoringassist.com for details). GEM members agree to drive with care, courtesy and concentration.
