WHICH? Car Servicing Survey

WHICH? Car Servicing Survey – Industry Already Working On Standards Says RMIF

Garages maintain car servicing standards by constantly reviewing their performance and procedures, making the survey performed by Which? Magazine an extension of what our members will already be doing,’ said Alec Murray, non-executive director of the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) commenting today (Thursday 2 August 2007).

For the survey, 50 garages across the country were sent cars for servicing that had been rigged with deliberate faults.

He continues: ‘The RMIF is currently working with industry partners on the Motor Industry Service and Repair Code, which will provide a national car servicing benchmark standard for consumers.’

It is important to note that one of the garages that scored top marks was a member of the RMIF. We will get in touch with all RMIF member garages that were included in the survey to discuss the results.’

Murray adds: ‘Everyone that takes their car to a RMIF member garage should be able to do so with total confidence, as our members are committed to providing the best standards of care for consumers.’
