Cooper Tyres Get A1 Test

The inaugural test session for the A1 GP Series has been hailed a success by the fifteen teams driving the cars, fully shod with Cooper tyres, at Silverstone circuit yesterday.

The teams, representing nations from across the globe, powered their way around the Northamptonshire track’s National circuit over 600 times on the Cooper rubber, racking up a total distance of 1,800 km.

Data gathered from the test will prove invaluable to the one-make tyre series as the teams strive to get even more performance and durability from their Cooper tyres.

Great Britain led the way with former British F3 champion, Robbie Kerr, chalking up the fastest time of the day with a stunning 48.888 seconds.

The A1 GP international championship will commence on 24 September at Brands Hatch.
