Rallye Sunseeker And Turbo Dynamics Won’t Disappoint

The south coast’s annual motorsport event, Rallye Sunseeker is set to return for its 23rd year on Friday 22nd February 2008.

The premier round of the MSA Gravel Rally Championship attracts rally teams from across Europe to the exciting event with 2007 seeing competitor, Marcus Dodd claim the overall title with his co-driver, Andrew Bargery. The mighty pair achieved the result for the fifth time with an impressive 1minute, 23 second win, in their Hyundai Accent WRC.

Following an estimated two thousand people being disappointed on New Year’s Eve when, having stood on Bournemouth beachfront counting down to the magical time, they discovered there was no firework display, this event guarantees not to disappoint.

In fact with Christchurch based, worldwide turbocharging specialists, Turbo Dynamics sponsoring the event again, it promises to be a whopper!

Rallye Sunseeker will be kicking off the New Year with a special evening on the Friday where racers will be competing over two stages. Situated in the centre of Bournemouth, they will start in the Lower Gardens and head towards Pier Approach, before taking the under-cliff road to Boscombe.

Two young and gorgeous Turbo Dynamics girls will be present at Pier Approach this year, handing out goodie bags while local band, Monuments open the event with their catchy music at 6:00pm.

The racing will begin at 7:00pm, after the teams have no doubt visited Rally Retail who will be selling a vast range of specialized clothing. Admission for the special evening will be free.

Then on the following Saturday morning, competitors will leave the service area at the Elliotthire Canford Arena to head for the forest roads in Wareham, Ringwood and Somerley Park.

Another two special stages, sponsored by Turbo Dynamics, will be hosted at Somerley Park, which is always a popular part of the rally. The Motorfair will also be present at Somerley Park with trade and retail stands for the shoppers, as well as static vehicle displays.

Turbo Dynamics will also be awarding a trophy to the highest placed novice crew using their beasty turbos at the event.

Managing Director, Peter Marsh said, “The Rallye Sunseeker is a fast-paced, thrilling motorsport event, which is right on our doorstep! We are delighted to be sponsors of such a prestigious event.”

Rick Smith, Rallye Sunseerker Clerk of the Course said he was delighted to have such an industry leader on board, as a core partner of the event.

The event’s scrutineering session, during which the vehicles undergo technical and safety checks, will also be open to the public this year, prior to the Friday evening. Taking place at the Littledown Centre in Bournemouth from 9:30am to 3:00pm, there will be commentary on the proceedings and driver interviews. Admission is £3 per adult.
