TomTom Reveals Europe's 50 Most Congested Cities

TomTom has revealed the results of the latest traffic study, which reveals some of the most congested hotspots of Europe, with Brussels coming out on top as the most congested city in Europe, with congestion getting worse, with a 1.2% increase in traffic since 2010.

The results also show that London has seen a 0.2% decrease, but it still has risen to third place in the most congested city list. Edinburgh and Manchester are also in the top ten.

Since 2010, six of the most congested cities in Europe have seen traffic reduce. The polish city of Wroclaw has seen a 2.6% drop, which takes it down to fourth place. Toulouse, France has reduced congestion by 1.9%, with 33% of roads congested in the city, it is ranked fifth in the rankings.

If you want to avoid the congestion, Cologne in Germany is the 50th least congested city, with only 18.9% of its roads being congested.

Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Hungary, Ireland and the Czech Republic each only have one city in the top50.

In Belfast, Ireland traffic congestion has reduced 2%, alongside Dublin, which has reduced its traffic by 9.7% since 2010.
