Original Pink Panther Car

The original 'Pink Panther' car will be auctioned for only the second time, by auctioneers Robson Kay, ending at 13:00 on 14th October 2011.

The one-of-a-kind Pink Panther car - known as the Panthermobile - was created in 1969, and was part of the Pink Panther Show, which aired in the United States from 1969 through to 1976.

Hollywood's master vehicle designer Jay Ohrberg was responsible for designing the car as well as other well-known movie and television vehicles, such as Knight Rider K.I.T.T, the Back To The Future DeLorean, 1966 Batmobile, 1989 Batmobile, Dukes of Hazzard General lee, Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino and the Flinstones cars.

It is understood that Mr Ohrberg owned the Pink Panther car before it was auctioned in June 2007 by COYS, where it was bought for £88,000 by the current owner.

The Pink Panther car is in original condition, and being 42 years old, does require some TLC. Currently, the engine does not run but was believed to be running when it was sold in 2007. The car is not street-legal and so does not come with a Swansea V5.

The auction, running online will start on 4th September 2011, coinciding with its appearance at the Chelsea Auto Legends Show on the same day.
