Citroen Xsara Picasso On Top As Survey Indicates People Carriers The Public Most Want To Insure

Citroen’s dancing car can now dance some more as the brand has come top in a survey of the most popular models by , the online arm of leading insurance intermediary the A&A Group Ltd.

In the company’s survey of the most popular people carriers, amongst both men and women it was the Citroen Xsara Picasso that came out on top.

The findings are based on the number of insurance quotes requested by owners of people carriers over a nine-month period to May 2005.

The Citroen Xsara Picasso got 29% of male votes and 23% of female votes. The sexes were also agreed on the number two spot, which went to the Vauxhall Zafira. Third most popular for men was the Renault Scenic, whilst women opted for the Ford Galaxy.

According to the survey the top five favourite people carriers in Britain are:

Men Women
1. Citroen Xsara Picasso Citroen Xsara Picasso
2. Vauxhall Zafira Vauxhall Zafira
3. Renault Scenic Ford Galaxy
4. Mercedes A Class Renault Scenic
5. Ford Galaxy Mercedes A Class

Perhaps surprisingly, only 52% of those wanting to insure their people carriers were married, so they could be just as popular with single mums and dads, or just singles with lots of friends!

Apart from practicality, the popularity of people carriers may also have something to do with the fact they are relatively cheap to insure, and even cheaper if people use a specialist like Quotea to find the best deals on offer.

With the cost of motoring overall escalating at an alarming rate: new car prices are on the rise, fuel costs are taking off and new congestion schemes are being planned, insurance currently offers one of the few ways to save money.

All you need says Quotea is to be sensible, keep it simple and shop around. And if you are too busy to do that, go online or make a quick phone call and let a specialist intermediary do all the hard work for you. You might be amazed at what you can save with a little professional help.
