Kenwood Electronics have announced the release of the first of a range of DAB headunits.

The features of the new generation of Kenwood DAB units include:

  • All have future proof DAB+ and DMB decoding and for use in France, Germany and Scandinavian countries.
  • Higher signal sensitivity with decoders that give a clean sound even in fringe reception areas.
  • Comes with neat internal screen aerial...no need to drill holes
  • iPod /iPhone, and steering wheel remote ready.

To demonstrate the benefits of digital radio, Kenwood have put on the road a DAB Smart vehicle which is available for a "hands on" experience.

The Kenwood KDC-DAB41U will be on sale in May 2011, and has a suggested selling price of around £200.
