How to Remove Salt from Your Car’s Bodywork

‘Armor All’ Shield

‘Armor All’ Shield

With the recent spell of bad weather and with more predicted over the next week or so, we would advise you to wash your car to remove all traces of salt as soon possible.

Salt can cause corrosion which will damage bodywork and alloy wheels, etc – it is a good idea to carefully use a jet wash to remove all traces from both the underside of the car and the bodywork.

The car protection experts ‘Armor All’ advise using their ‘Heavy Duty Car Wash’ to remove all traces of salt and grime prior to applying a coat of their new ‘Shield’ protector, if you want to help protect your car from further salt attacks.

‘Armor All’ have produced a product that can help with the cleaning process – their latest offering is called ‘Shield’, which claims to provide a far greater and longer-lasting protection to paintwork than a conventional car wax. It is applied after washing your car and does not require buffering.  Once applied, each wash reactivates the protective shield to maintain paintwork shine and protection for up to ten washes. So confident is Armor All of the product's performance that it offers a money-back guarantee.

Armor All Shield is available now from Halfords stores nationwide and all good motoring accessory shops, with a recommended price of £18.99 for a 500ml bottle.
