DaimlerChrysler Financial Services rated number one by retailers

In a recent Sewells Information and Research survey of automotive finance providers, DaimlerChrysler Financial Services – a sister company to DaimlerChrysler UK – was voted as the best in the business.

The company, which operates in the retail network using Mercedes-Benz Finance and Chrysler Finance brands, received a glowing report from its network of customers, with 88 per cent rating the company’s service as ‘very good’ or ‘good’.

The results follow a five year internal programme to focus on customer satisfaction and service, after a last place finish in the 2002 Sewells Survey.  Since then, DaimlerChrysler Financial Services has radically changed the way its business operates, with CSI and CRM programmes coming to the fore.

Bob Middleton, Managing Director DaimlerChrysler Financial Services, described how important the number one rating is to the company: “This achievement is the result of a significant focus over the last five years.  Being committed to and delivering great customer service does not happen overnight and our key challenge for the future is to keep pushing forward, continue raising our standards, and to maintain our position as the UK’s number one automotive finance house.

“This is a major achievement from the entire team, in the face of stiff competition and a difficult trading climate for our dealers and retailers.  For many companies, achieving a status of being number one is only ever a goal.  For DaimlerChrysler Financial Services this is now reality.”

The Sewells Survey 2007 showed that finance companies owned by manufacturers “are really delivering in response to competition from independent finance companies on one side and direct lenders on the other.”

Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO DaimlerChrysler UK, explained the trend towards companies like DaimlerChrysler Financial Services: “Today’s customers are well-educated and well-informed; they often research the best available finance deal before visiting a retailer, and can see that the rates and packages offered by Mercedes-Benz Finance and Chrysler Finance are competitive.
