The Classic Motor Show At The Birmingham NEC In November

The Classic Motor Show, held from 14th to 16th November 2008 at Birmingham’s NEC has a wealth of offerings to keep visitors happy.
The Ford RS Owners Club will have an Escort Cosworth, a Series 1 RS Turbo, a Mk2 RS 2000 and a 1968 Twincam on display, while the Ford AVO Club will have some rare competition and rally cars, including the Mexico and RS 1600.

The Skoda Owner’s club, to celebrate 50 years of Skoda Rally competition, will have their 1000MB, a Works-replica 110 Coupé and an original 130L rally car.  Also there will be the ever-increasingly rare Hillman Hunter, which won the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon.

Also on show will be the extremely rare Datsun 200 DeLuxe Six, the Just Open Vauxhall Car Club has a display centred around the 25 year old Nova, the Mk1 Volkswagen Golf GTI Owners Club will be paying tribute to Volkswagen’s GTIs and Cabriolets from the mid-70s to mid-80s.

Leeds College of Technology will be providing information on restoring and DIY maintenance for classic cars, but more interestingly is that they will show hands on how to tackle specific job if you ask them.

With over 1000 cars on display, most people will be able to recognise classic cars which played a significant part in their life, and with Dream Rides offering visitors a ten mile ride as a passenger in a classic ride, you might be able to reminisce whilst on a ten mile ride. All that they ask is you make a donation to charity.
