The New Peugeot 207 Has A Positive Affect On Avis Rental Customers

Peugeot’s new 207 has received positive feedback from Avis Rent a Car customers, following the inclusion of 300 vehicles on its UK rental fleet.

Avis customers were among the first people in the country to drive the new 207. In a ground breaking initiative and a technology first for both companies, rental customers were encouraged to leave feedback on the car using WAP technology through their mobile phone. Peugeot has been monitoring their response for the past six months.

Renters were asked to respond to 16 questions, based on their rental experience with the 207. From the results, 82% of Avis customers thought the 207 was better or much better than other vehicles in its class, and 86% said they would like to rent the 207 again in this car group.

50% of rental customers enjoyed the experience so much that they would consider the 207 as a possible future vehicle for themselves or their family.

Steve Harris, Fleet and Leasing Director at Peugeot explains: "The 207 is an important car for us and through Avis we have been able to get the opinion of thousands of corporate and retail drivers actually using the car in their everyday life, and the feedback has been tremendous."

"As a volume car manufacturer we compete in all areas of the UK market, including daily rental. We have adopted a responsible and consistent approach to this sector for some years. For a new model such as the 207, getting as many people behind the wheel as early as possible gives us an indication of what potential customers think of the car."

Following the sales success of 207, Avis continues its relationship with Peugeot into 2007 with the prospect of further new exciting models due soon. Peugeot will also continue to monitor the invaluable feedback that Avis customers provide on the 207 throughout the year.
