Having tested various security devices currently available, luxury sports car manufacturer, Morgan Motor Company, has selected the market leading stolen vehicle recovery system TRACKER Horizon as the only approved ‘factory fit’ option for its Aero 8, Plus 8 and 4/4 models.
This now means that Morgan customers have the reassurance that their brand new Morgan can be delivered to them complete with a state of the art TRACKER Horizon security device. So should their highly desirable sports car be stolen, the TRACKER system hidden within the vehicle can be activated and the police can locate and retrieve it using both land based radio and satellite technologies.
Matthew Parkin, sales & marketing director at Morgan, commented: "We wish to supply our valued customers with a comprehensive factory option programme. Naturally, this needs to cover the security of their vehicle. We decided upon TRACKER's Horizon system for a number of reasons. TRACKER has an excellent reputation within the industry, and we were extremely impressed by the functionality of Horizon and its superb retrieval record."
TRACKER’s stolen vehicle recovery systems range includes TRACKER Retrieve where the owner contacts TRACKER if the vehicle is stolen and TRACKER Monitor where a remote sensor in the vehicle alerts TRACKER HQ if the vehicle is illegally moved. Both systems are operated via land based radio transmission, which means that if the car is hidden in a lock-up or container or is covered up, it can still be tracked. TRACKER Horizon operates as Monitor, but also utilises satellite positioning technology as well as land based radio transmission to provide the most comprehensive stolen vehicle tracking system available in the UK.
To date, TRACKER has led the police to the retrieval of more than 9,700 stolen vehicles valued at more than £164 million and to the arrest of more than 1,400 vehicle thieves.Published 24 June 2003
