Golfers Tee Up To Win A Morgan Sports Car

Published: 6th September 2003
For most golfing fans, sinking a hole in one is a dream come true. But one lucky swinger could strike real gold next Saturday at Worcester’s Bank House Golf Course, where a special charity match takes place. A hole in one at the par 3, 190 yd 5th tee there could see somebody driving off in a brand new £22,000 Morgan 4/4 Runabout sports car.

Organised by the EGGS Captain’s Charity, the event is in aid of research into Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma – a form of cancer. Steve Gill, a 33 year old who works for the Morgan Motor Company in Malvern Link, contracted the disease 12 years ago, and is happily now completely free of the cancer following successful treatment.

"I wanted to do something to help other people suffering this illness, and we came up with the idea of putting up a Morgan car as a special prize in the golf tournament," says Steve.

"I discussed the idea with Morgan management, and with the kind support of Hedley Insurance Services, who provide insurance services to Morgan, and local Morgan dealers Mike Duncan, it has really taken off."
