Morgan Aero 8 Racing Success Continues
Published: 26th April 2003
Following on from the monumental success of both Aero 8s at the opening round of the competition – second and third in the new ‘Cup Class’ – Keith Ahlers’ Team Aero and Richard Thorne Motorsport (RTM) fought a fierce battle on the Norfolk circuit against each other and the likes of the Porsches and Lotus Exige. Team Aero held off stiff competition to take its second third place podium finish of the season, whilst RTM crossed the chequered flag in a highly commendable fourth place.
It was an action-packed thriller with positions changing every few laps. As Team Aero’s Keith Ahlers pitted, Neil Cunningham in the RTM Morgan Aero 8 moved into third place in class. The tables were turned, however, after its power steering failed and Keith Ahlers was able to win back position.
"It was a hugely exciting race. We are thrilled
that the car is continuing to run so well. The speed has consistently
improved with each outing and we are convinced that we will
be able to give the Porsches a real run for their money at
Knockhill," commented Ahlers.
