South West Water has taken delivery of its first batch of L200 Pick-ups, the water company for Devon and Cornwall choosing Mitsubishi’s acclaimed utility vehicle above all others currently on the market for its Water Treatment maintenance teams.

Andy Wertheim Fleet and Used Car Manager of Mitsubishi Motors UK said ‘ South West Water is a key customer for us as they operate within one of our core target markets. Their decision to purchase Mitsubishi’s is a strong endorsement of both our product and customer service excellence’.

After nearly a year of extensive field testing, South West Water was able to assess the capability of the L200 in full, the vehicle on trial being used to tend to a number of remote locations on Dartmoor.

With glowing reports of its ability being received from the staff, Damian James, Transport Controller from South West Water, had no hesitation in choosing Mitsubishi’s L200 range as the replacement for the company's current fleet:

"We looked carefully at the pick-ups on the market, trialed some of them and read articles in the press. This led us to buy our first Mitsubishi L200 and put it to the test. Not only has it surpassed our expectations in terms of suitability, it also meets our criteria for price and reliability."

Mr James pointed out a number of additional features which have led to the company's decision on which 4x4 pick-up to purchase: "A lot of our sites are situated on high ground and access can be difficult, especially in the Winter. In some remote areas our vehicles spend around 90% of their working life off road and we are confident that the L200 will cope admirably. In addition, our teams are impressed with the level of cab comfort and how good they are to drive."

South West Water is intending to keep their new fleet of L200s for around seven years. They are impressed that the vehicles are being offered with a 100,000 mile warranty, a move which endorses Mitsubishi’s confidence in its products.
