Mitsubishi Motors UK Continues Its Record Breaking Run
Published: 19th October 2004
Bucking the trend of the market, which was up only 0.3% and actually down 2% for the month, Mitsubishi Motors UK posted a year to date sales increase of 14% and an 18% increase compared to September 2003.
Sales have continued strongly across the range throughout 2004 with exceptional results shown by Mitsubishi’s core 4x4 vehicles such as Shogun, up 28% on last year with 4978 sales. Shogun Sport continues its exceptional run, up a massive 131% on the year with 3375 sales and 161% on the month with 816 registrations in September.
Launched on 1st July this year Mitsubishi’s new MPV, Grandis, has already made a real impression in the market taking 17% of the petrol MPV segment. The combination of strong exterior design and interior flexibility has proved a hit with customers resulting in the dealer network achieving 165% of its sales target for the quarter.
With strong consumer offers available for the final quarter of the year across the vehicle range, Mitsubishi Motors will easily smash 2003’s record result and is expected to post a fourth successive year of 20% growth.
