On a practical level the Outlander 2.4 Equippe offers good levels of storage including: large door bins and a central storage box with various integral trays. In the rear there is an under floor compartment which would be particularly useful for the discreet stowage of valuable items.

The boot is large and features flat folding rear seats with a 60/40 split. The passenger seat also reclines fully to free up more load space if required and the rear seat backs recline in three different stages. The boot is equipped with four cargo hooks, two convenience hooks and three tether hooks which can be used with nets/straps to secure shopping or bulky loads.

Safety and Security

The following safety & security equipment is standard on the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 Equippe:

alarm, keyless entry, engine immobiliser, locking wheel nuts, retractable luggage cover, ABS with EBD, front SRS airbags, side SRS airbags front seat sides, child proof rear door locks, crash detection door unlock system, front ventilated disc brakes, rear drum brakes, electric anti-trapping front and rear windows, energy absorbing front pillar trim and headlining, front fog lamps, ISOFIX child seat mountings 2nd row, front seatbelts ELR with pre-tensioners and force limiters, side impact door bars and rear seatbelts 3 point ELR/ALR.

Comfort and Refinement

The Outlander's cabin is spacious with excellent head, leg and shoulder room in both the front and rear. The seats are comfortable but on longer journeys you do find yourself wishing that there was a little more under thigh support.

The drivers seat is height adjustable and incorporates lumbar support. The recline is adjustable via a lever which was awkward to use as you could easily slip back too far - a dial type adjustment would be better.

The 2.4 Equippe's level of refinement is high and includes: front map reading lights, front and rear interior lights, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, all round electric windows - drivers side with one touch up and down, sun visors with vanity mirrors, an odometer with digital display for fuel consumption, miles to refill and outdoor temperature, instrument panel dimmer, headlight levelling device, remote fuel flap release, central locking switch, rear 12-volt socket, rear armrest with cupholders, front cupholders, illuminated glove box, climate controlled air-conditioning, front fog lamps and leather wrapped steering wheel, handbrake grip and gear selector.
