Good September For Mitsubishi UK Sales
Published: 7th October 2002
Total new vehicle sales of 4,793 units in September was an increase of 13.5% over September 2002 and the third highest monthly total on record since Mitsubishi imports began in 1974.
Proving that Mitsubishi's added value, special edition models and incentives to buy campaigns are really what the UK customer wants, no less than 90.6% of September's sales were in the retail sector of the market.
Year to date Mitsubishi's UK new vehicle retail sales are 37.4% higher than 2001. Retail sales year to date are 18,819 units. This volume is higher than any previous FULL year retail sales.
Total sales year to date are 20,961 of which 89.8% have been to retail customers.
Whilst all Mitsubishi's 4x4's sold extremely well during September the
star performer of the range were the L200 pick ups with a staggering 1,928
sales. That equates to 49% of the pick up market - more than Ford, Toyota,
Nissan and Isuzu put together. The L200 range boosted by demand for Animal,
Warrior and 4-Life double cabs, maintains its number one selling position
in the UK with a year to date market share of 41.3%, or 6,512 sales.
