Soap Scallywag Has A 'Rally' Good Time At The Show

Soap star and rally enthusiast Kelvin Fletcher knows a thing or two about performance cars - he recently bought himself a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 - so he was looking forward to checking out the latest rally-bred offerings from Mitsubishi and Subaru when he visited the British International Motor Show today.

Kelvin, who plays young tearaway Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, has been in a fair few scrapes since joining the popular soap in 1996, but he reckons things are on the up for his character now, with his recent engagement and forthcoming fatherhood.

“Maybe I should get a Land Rover with all that going on!” he joked.

Kelvin passed his driving test at 17 years old, and the first car he owned was a VW Polo GTI, but the thrill of driving on the open roads surrounding his Manchester home is tempered somewhat by the abundance of speed cameras there.
