Overall we were not too impressed by the interior, a few screw heads were exposed here and there, which we do not expect to see anymore.

Value for Money

If it is performance you require then the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-360 GSR is good value for money, to buy a comparable German or Italian car you would be spending well over £100k.

The Evolution X has 10,000 mile service intervals and is available with a Mitsubishi Service Plan for an extra £495, which covers the first three scheduled services and the first 1,000 mile oil change. Plus there is a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty and pan-European roadside assistance. Out of interest Porsche offer a 2 year / unlimited mileage warranty on the Cayman.

Summary

If you accept the interior styling and the angry looking exterior, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-360 it is a very interesting proposition. Very few cars would see it off and that includes the likes of Ferrari and Porsche.

Subjectively the Mitsubishi Evo may not be the prettiest of cars but what you are buying is its technical expertise from the waist down. It is very rewarding to drive and when given an empty 'B' road it would delight even the most demanding of drivers.

We now see why the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is such a legendary car and of course if you feel the FQ-360 is lacking in performance you can always opt for the new FQ-400!
