Mitsubishi L200 Review

Mitsubishi L200 Animal
Comfort and Refinement
The L200 Double Cab has been designed as a cross over vehicle - during the day it can be used for example by the trades person or farmer and then in the evening/weekends it is family car capable of carrying five in relevant comfort. Or it can be used as a family car with the addition of being able to carry all of the recreational toys for the weekend or DIY trips. Or it can be used as a business vehicle capable of carrying five people off road with a one tonne payload in the rear with a 2.7 tonne towing capability. Plus there are tax benefits for the self employed and the business user. Total flexibility, although we did have trouble fitting in a plastic table and chairs from the DIY store.
Inside the L200 Animal is fitted with leather seats and climate control (air conditioning), plus you benefit from a 10 disc autochanger and SmartNav navigation as standard.
The steering wheel is tilt adjustable and the driver’s seat can be raised for height to accommodate drivers of all sizes. We thought the seats could do with a little more padding and we would have preferred to have a dial seat recline rather than a lever, to get perfectly comfortable.
Access was easy to both the front and rear, and the standard side steps help those who are infirm or have short legs. Both front and rear legroom was very good and so was the front and rear headroom, so your burly work colleagues will fit.
How It Looks - Exterior
Inspired by the Dakar Rally winning Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution, the L200 is very much in your face, which is especially true of the Animal Edition, quite simply it turns heads.
As you can imagine I have driven quite a few cars, from a Lada to a Lamborghini, but few have had the comments and admiration that the L200 Animal received. It might have been that it was bright red, it might have been the Animal branding emblazoned down the side or it could have been because it is the best looking pick-up on the road.
