Full Stars And Stripes Awarded To British Built MINI

The new MINI Cooper has been named North American Car of the
Year 2003 at the Detroit International Auto Show. The MINI Cooper
was singled out for its sporty handling and performance, superb
design, practicality and affordability.
Judged the winner by a panel of American motoring journalists, the MINI Cooper is the first British built car ever to win the award.
Trevor Houghton-Berry, General Manager MINI UK said: "We
are absolutely delighted with this news. MINI has already
proved itself to be a tremendous success in the UK and being
named top in the USA confirms that MINI is a car with truly
international credentials. It is a real coup for a British
built car to achieve such recognition."
