Top MINI Action Takes Motor Show By Storm

Published: 2nd November 2002
Organisers of MINI Adventure Live!, the all-action stunt display that’s taken this year’s British International Motor Show at Birmingham by storm, are laying on additional performances to cope with public demand.

The jaw-dropping action takes place in a purpose built arena within Hall 2 and visitors to the motor show originally had the opportunity to see MINI in action up to seven times a day. However, the British love affair with the new MINI has meant that the seven shows are not able to satisfy the demand and two extra shows have been added to each day’s events. This allows up to 9,000 show visitors a day to have their own MINI adventure.

Trevor Houghton-Berry, MINI general manager, said: "We knew MINI Adventure Live! would be the main attraction at Birmingham, but have been staggered by its appeal. As soon as we saw that visitors had to queue for over an hour and a half, we knew it was necessary to do something to help and the MINI stunt drivers were more than happy to fit in a couple of extra shows.

"All 40,000 new MINI owners have been invited personally to watch the show and enjoy some MINI hospitality from a backstage area and 1200 have already taken us up on the offer. All of us at MINI are understandably proud of the impact the car has had at its second Birmingham show and we just have one concern – how do we top MINI Adventure Live?"
