MG Rover Group Enjoy Motor Show Success

Published: 5th November 2002
With the British International Motor Show having now finished, MG Rover Group has reported huge levels of interest in its car ranges and at the final count in excess of 1,000 orders were taken, representing over £12m at showroom prices.

Interest in the new MG XPower SV has been especially high. Customers have shown a keenness to be the first to enjoy the thrills of this exciting new car and the first three months production has already been sold.

Exhibits on the MG Rover Group stand included the latest Rover 25 and 45 ranges which now include a Traffic Alert system as standard equipment, tax-beating Rover 75 1.8T and CDTi models, a Rover Tourer Concept Vehicle providing a strong indication of future design and the full MG range now extending to the high performance MG XPower SV.

Commenting on this outstanding result, John Sanders, sales and marketing director, MG Rover Group, said: "We are extremely pleased with the level of interest in our new cars and the subsequent order take. The quality of enquiries has been excellent which says a lot for the Birmingham based British International Motor Show, despite overall attendance being slightly affected by adverse weather conditions."
