The Five-Millionth Rover

Rover 75

The only replica version of the car built to celebrate the five-millionth Rover is being offered for sale by MG Rover Direct from its Longbridge located site. The five-millionth car and the replica were built in July 2003 specified as a Rover 75 2.5-litre V6 Saloon, painted in a special Aubergine supertallic paint finish.

The Aubergine paint finish is one of the latest developments in paint technology with chroma crystal effect pigments, producing a very high lustre, a strong glitter effect with distinct shimmer. It is upholstered with unique Oyster leather and Aubergine trim with Connoisseur SE specification that includes Hi-Line satellite navigation and many additional top-of-the-range items that combine to make this a very special Rover car.

The replica five-millionth Rover 75 Saloon automatic was valued new at £27,753, with the added extra of a Sony DVD at £2,127, glass electric sunroof at £470 and Personal Line trim at £383 – a total of £30,733. This special Rover, registration VO03 WWS, is being made available for £20,000.

MG Rover Group built the five-millionth Rover car on Thursday, July 10 2003. The off-line ceremony was attended by the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, when he congratulated staff on this motoring milestone. The original five-millionth Rover car is retained by the company as part of its history brand collection.
