Published: 10th May 2002
The SLK Special Edition adds to the standard cars’ generous specification with 7.5J x 17 Evolution alloy wheels; black nappa leather upholstery with silver accents; brushed aluminium interior trim and silver instruments with white dials and highlighted surrounds.
Available from June 2002, the SLK Special Edition costs from £25,890 for the SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR. The SLK 230 KOMPRESSOR is £29,090 and the range-topping SLK 320 costs £32,040, all of which are on the road prices. The Special Edition’s features add some £600-worth of extra value compared with normal equivalent option list prices.
Dermot Kelly, Director Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars and smart explained: "The SLK-Class Roadster is one of the most stylish open sports cars on the road, and its popularity keeps on growing. Our new Special Edition improves on what is already a stunning roadster with stylish appointments that give a hint of its remarkable new SL-Class stablemate."
All SLK-Class Roadsters have the engineering and performance to back up their looks. An electro-hydraulic folding metal vario-roof changes the car from coupé to topless in just 25 seconds. Four airbags, ESP® Electronic Stability Program, ABS anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist and doors that lock automatically above 5 mph add to the safety and security tally.
Every new Mercedes-Benz passenger car bought in the UK from an authorised retailer has a three-year unlimited mileage warranty and ASSYST variable service intervals as standard. The SLK-Class Roadster also includes Mercedes’ industry-leading 30-year mobilo-life cover, which provides anti-corrosion and breakdown cover for three decades.
The new SLK Special Edition adds even more exclusivity and
desirability to a potent mix of great looks, sporting credentials
and the versatility of both hard and open top motoring.
