New C 200 CDI Models Are The Business
Published: 17th June 2003
The core qualities of the C-Class range remain in the new C 200 CDI. As well as its impressive armoury of safety features including ABS, ASR, BAS, ESP® and six airbags, all C-Class models retain the innovative secondary crumple zone, which transmits energy in a severe frontal accident through the roof beams to the rear of the car. These features helped the Saloon range score a maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
C-Class retains its dynamic driving characteristics, great handling and comfortable ride quality. The car's styling features a rakish front, muscular rear, and in the case of the Sports Coupé, the split rear windscreen. The interior remains carefully assembled, made of high quality materials, and the seats continue to cosset and support.
Also available on the new C 200 CDI are the great value SE packages. The C 200 CDI Classic SE, for example, adds high levels of equipment and value for only £500 more than the standard Classic price. The cars feature automatic climate control, but also get alloy wheels; CD player; five-speed automatic transmission (with Speedtronic cruise control and speed limiter); and leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear shift. The Classic SE package represents a significant £1,480-worth of added value compared with current option prices. SE packs are also available on Elegance and Avantgarde trim levels.
The C-Class’s remarkable Mercedes-Benz warranty package also remains as standard on all new cars bought in the UK from an authorised retailer. This includes a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty, ASSYST variable servicing intervals and mobilio-life, the industry-leading 30-year anti-corrosion and breakdown cover.
The addition of these new C 200 CDI models means the success story
of Mercedes-Benz's diesel range continues, and has now been brought
into the reach of even more motorists than before.
