Prices start at a cool £290,000, and the model on display at The Sunday Times Motor Show Live is a snip at £320,000, but that hasn’t stopped DaimlerChrysler being overwhelmed with ‘legitimate business leads’ for its 6.17 metre long Maybach 62.

Making its UK show debut, following its return last summer after a 60 year absence, the Maybach comes with silver champagne flutes and champagne cooler as standard, and has rear seats that recline like first class airline seats.

The prospective customers who have registered an interest will now be visited by a personal liaison manager from Maybach. They will take a personalised order, with bespoke specifications that, based on past experience, can include anything from an upgraded sound system to a request for 24 carat gold paint.

Press and PR manager, Rob Halloway, says, ‘We’re delighted with the response we’ve had. The motor show has far exceeded our expectations and now we will help to fulfil our customers’ wildest dreams.’
