Epsom Becomes Mercedes-Benz's Latest Star

Published: 18th June 2002
As part of its ongoing retail network strategy, DaimlerChrysler Retail UK Ltd has acquired the Mercedes-Benz outlet in Epsom, Surrey.

An ongoing process, the new retail network will consist of 35 large Market Area territories, which will include a variety of outlets and new, customer-focused services. The total number of outlets across the country will actually rise, and some 70 per cent of the outlets will be owned and run by independent franchise holders. DaimlerChrysler Retail will operate all Mercedes-Benz retail locations in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Mercedes-Benz Epsom forms the latest part of these network changes, ensuring local customers receive consistently high levels of service, and brings the number of locations operated by DaimlerChrysler Retail within the M25 to eight.

Geoff Brady, Managing Director DaimlerChrysler Retail explained: "Visits to a car dealership tend to be few and far between, normally for servicing, repair or a trade-in.

"We want a trip to your local Mercedes-Benz retailer to be convenient, 'hassle free' and enjoyable. Our centres will offer longer opening hours, more flexible facilities like 'service whilst you shop' recently launched at our Bluewater Retail Showcase, all within pleasant and inviting surroundings.

Geoff went on to praise the workforce at the retailer: "We’re delighted that the
35-strong team at Epsom is remaining with us. Their enthusiasm and expertise has ensured a seamless transition from the site’s previous owners, and we look forward to working with them to improve the service we offer our customers."
