Mercedes-Benz Direct Expands Commercial Vehicle Sales
Published: 16th May 2003
The success of the pilot scheme, at the MB Direct site in Erdington, achieved average monthly sales of 30 units, with 50 vans in stock.
John Bissett, Managing Director for Mercedes-Benz Direct, said: "The pilot scheme has highlighted a profitable gap in the marketplace, which Mercedes-Benz Direct is ideally placed to fill.
"For van sales, we will use the same concept that we have used so successfully for passenger cars. We will aim to lead on price and availability, giving customers the widest choice of used Mercedes-Benz under one roof."
Van sales specialists have been located in the MB Direct dealerships in Hemel Hempstead, Waltham Cross and Manchester. The van sales team will continue at the Birmingham site under CV Sales Manager David Lammas.
David Lammas added: "The four sites will sell Vito and Sprinter from £5999 up to £15,000, and we expect a third of sales to be Vito. The last 12 months have shown that customers are prepared to travel considerable distances if you have a range of price and product. We will stock Vito and Sprinter up to 6 years old, giving us a broader stock range than other dealers who tend to focus on 2-3 year old vehicles."
All commercial vehicles come with MOT and service if required, minimum 6 month parts and labour warranty if the vehicle is outside the manufacturer’s warranty, full valet inside and out, HPI and vehicle mileage check.
