Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 35th anniversary of AMG by exhibiting its recently expanded high performance range at this month’s Motor Show, at Birmingham’s NEC.

Among the new models on display are the S 55 AMG limousine and SL 55 AMG roadster. Powered by an awesome 500 hp supercharged V8 engine, the cars represent the pinnacle of AMG’s considerable engineering expertise. Also making its UK debut is the new 367 hp CLK 55 AMG Coupé.

AMG is the high performance division of Mercedes-Benz. Formed 35 years ago, the company made its first official Mercedes-Benz road car, the C 36 AMG, in 1994.

Since then, the AMG range has been expanded to give customers an exclusive, high performance derivative of every Mercedes-Benz saloon, estate, coupé and roadster range. Each car gives drivers exceptional performance, impeccable road holding and superb build quality. This high quality engineering means AMG owners will be able to enjoy the performance of their cars for years to come.

As well as building high performance road and race cars, AMG also manufactures sporting accessories. 2001 marked the tenth anniversary of AMG aftermarket wheels and styling accessories being introduced in the UK. Available on all Mercedes-Benz cars, AMG styling adds eye-catching style whatever model a customer chooses.
