Mercedes Benz Passes VAT Reduction on to Customers

Mercedes Benz will be implementing the full 2.5% VAT reduction across its UK businesses from 1st December 2008. Where VAT was applied at 17.5% it will now be charged at 15%.
This applies to new car prices for Mercedes-Benz and smart, delivery charges, service and Official Parts. Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands is also passing on the full reduction on all its services including: driving experiences; food and drink served in the Gullwing restaurant and Cafe; 1886; and Boutique items.
The Mercedes Benz Cars range now starts at £14,064.14 OTR for the A 150 BlueEFFICIENCY Classic SE 3-dr; a reduction of £300.86.
The smart range now starts at £6912.44 OTR for the smart fortwo pure coupe micro hybrid drive (61 bhp); a reduction of £147.56.
