Mercedes-Benz New Models And Enhanced Specification For 2006

New engine line-up for C-Class
Sweeping changes throughout the C-Class range see new engines, specifications and transmissions available to order now.
The new Vee format petrol and diesel engines provide smoother and increased performance whilst retaining excellent fuel economy and meeting Euro 4 emissions standards.
Some models are replaced within the range whilst some are brand new. This year’s model change also signals a wider application of the ultra-flexible 7G-TRONIC gearbox. Across the range, specification improvements have been made and safety features enhanced with little increase in cost.
C 230
This new V6 2496cc petrol engine replaces the C 230 KOMPRESSOR.
The four-cylinder supercharged engine is superseded by a new, compact and lightweight 2.5-litre V6 unit which offers 204 hp and 245 Nm of torque.
The new V6 engine offers a smoother power delivery and improved response, when compared to the outgoing engine, yet retains excellent fuel consumption and Euro 4 emission standards.
This is thanks to the same technical innovations seen across the V6 petrol family including variable inlet and exhaust camshafts and variable length inlet manifolds. Also included are internal tumble flaps, which create turbulence within the intake throats to improve fuel distribution across the combustion chambers.
By using the same architecture of the 280 and 350 all-alloy V6 engines, the new unit can be mated to the exceptional 7G-TRONIC transmission, which is offered as an option on this model. The price for this appointment is only £1070.
C 280
This is a brand new 2996cc V6 petrol model for the C-Class Saloon and Estate (not Sports Coupé) and is powered by the sporty 231 hp 3.0-litre V6 as featured in the SLK 280. Within the C-Class, the flexible V6 engine is mated to the unique 7G-TRONIC transmission as standard.
C 350
Replacing the C 320, this new 3498cc 272 hp V6 petrol engine has been seen in the E 350, CLS 350 and initially in the SLK 350. In the C-Class, it is mated to the 7G-TRONIC transmission which comes with Tipfunction gear change and Speedtronic cruise control - all as standard.
Included with the C 350 Avantgarde are larger 17in alloy wheels with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear tyres for increased levels of grip. Greater feedback to the driver and increased feel come courtesy of Parameter Steering, also fitted as standard.
