C-Class Sports Coupe C 160 - the new entry level C-Class
New to the C-Class Sports Coupé range is an exciting new model - the C 160. This offers exceptional value and offers another entry point to the Mercedes-Benz range being priced under £20,000.
The C 160 offers a saving of £870 when compared to the larger engined C 180 KOMPRESSOR, on which it is based.
The trim and equipment level of the C 160 is identical to the C 180 K, the only changes are in the mechanical department where the engine is a revised version of the 1.8-litre supercharged engine in the C 180 K.
For those wanting a little bit more, the options to upgrade to SE or SPORT Edition specification are available priced at £700 and £1830 respectively.
As with the rest of the Sports Coupe range, the SE package adds 16in five-spoke alloy wheels, metallic paint, leather trimmed interior details, electric folding mirrors and dimming interior and exterior driver’s mirror to the C 160. The SPORT Edition equipment for the C 160 is as noted earlier in this release.
Available to order now, the new and exciting C 160 will cost only £19,495 on the road.
New SLK 280 - V6 engine powers the SLK-Class to greater success
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the pricing and availability of a new SLK-Class equipped with its latest petrol engine, the 231 hp 2996cc V6.
For the first time in a V6 engine, both intake and exhaust camshafts are variable to optimise power and torque while contributing to fuel economy. Further adjustments are possible within the variable length inlet - a number of flaps open, or close, according to engine speed and load to adjust the tract length. This adjustability enables the engine management system to achieve the best possible output for a given driving situation.
In terms of specification, the SLK 280 matches the high value SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR exactly with the addition of special 16in 5-spoke alloy wheels as standard, only available as an option on the SLK 200 K. The SLK 280 also comes equipped with six-speed manual transmission as standard, however the renowned and ultra-flexible 7G-TRONIC transmission is optional for £1770.
The new SLK 280 Euro 4 compliant engine completes the SLK-Class line-up, which now hosts a vast range of engines, from the 163 hp SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR, through to the 360 hp V8 SLK 55 AMG.
Orders can be taken now for UK delivery and will cost from £30,975 on-the-road.
