The new Mercedes AMG GLE 63 Coupe has been announced today at the Detroit Motor Show.
The AMG GLE 63 GLE guns directly for the BMW X6 M, with power being provided by a 5.5-litre petrol AMG V8 power plant, with 5,461cc displacement outputting 585hp at 5,500 rpm / 760Nm of torque between 1,750 – 5,250 rpm. This will propel it from 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds onto an electronically limited top of 155 mph. The optional driving assistance plus package increases this 174 mph.
The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission with 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased power distribution with selectable driving modes.
The official NEDC data, indicates a combined cycle fuel economy figure of 23.7 mpg and emissions of 279 g/km – euro 6 compliant.
The AMG GLE 63 Coupe rides on 21-inch alloys with 285/45 R 21 tyres on the front axle and 325/40 R 21 on the rear with AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with AIRMATIC. Where is the AMG GLE 63 S-line Coupe steps up to 22-inch wheels, 285/40 R 22 (front axle) and 325/35 R 22 (rear axle).
Standard equipment on the S-line model includes crosswind assist, adaptive brake, attention assist, collision prevention assist plus and easy-pack tailgate and LED Intelligent Light System.
On the options list are Bang & Olufsen’s BeoSound AMG surround sound system, command online and driving assistance plus package
