The award-winning Mitchell Group opens a state of the art new car showroom – with a difference - for its newly appointed Mazda, and Skoda, franchises this month, (23 August), adjacent to the popular Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village, adjacent to the M53 motorway, exit junction 10.

The Mitchell Group has built a £2.5 million complex, creating over 50 new jobs in the local area. The site will house a 16-car showroom and a 20 bay workshop featuring a first floor lounge where customers can relax in a non-pressurised retail environment.

The £40,000 lounge has views into the showroom, workshop and beyond across the Cheshire countryside and is equipped with plasma screens, an internet café and all-day complimentary hot and cold refreshments managed by the full-time centre host team.

Local businessman and group managing director, Mark Mitchell, explained how the Mitchell Group is already well-known for its successful car dealerships in the local area thanks to its unique customer relationship marketing.

"Mitchell Group has long-since recognised that selling cars is about people and an engaging experience," explains Mark, previous Dealer of the Year Award winner.

"Through our established franchises we have always offered unique customer services whether that is a "wash and go" car washing service every Saturday for life, or a "drop-off and collect" shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks while we service your car."

The dealership owns 200-metres of Shropshire Union canal frontage, and Mitchell Mazda is now close to purchasing a 25-foot Mazda-branded narrow boat to provide relaxing boat trips for customers while their vehicle is serviced. More than seven million people will pass the new dealership every year on their way to the nearby Cheshire Oaks site making the new business a prime location for Mitchell Group.

Mark added: "We are delighted to have been awarded the Mazda dealership for such a significant market as Chester. The area presents immense opportunities for sales and after-sales for us and my 30 strong Mazda team are tremendously excited about the launch of our new dealership."

The new 25,000 square foot dealership is the Mitchell Group’s greatest investment to date. The complex is opening on 23 August and is part of a £6 million project, which includes the company’s existing neighbouring Lexus centre.

42-year-old Mark, an economics graduate and former Austin Rover graduate trainee, founded the Mitchell Group for just £100 in 1990, then named Mitchell North West Limited, and opened the first dealership in 1996. He has previously worked as a Ford zone manager, Inchcape general manager and Dixon Group divisional director.

The Mitchell Group customer service standards echo those of Mazda, Bronze winner in J.D. Power & Associates’ Customer Satisfaction Survey 2004, exceeding customers' expectations with a reliable, consistent yet engaging experience.

In March, hundreds of customers demonstrated their support for the group when they turned up for "Operation Hard Hat". Wearing wellies, complimentary hard hats and carrying garden shovels, they celebrated the start of building work, while some even brought the kids and pet dogs along. Mark Mitchell is already planning more exciting customer offers for the autumn - watch this space.
