RX-8 To Take Fleet Market By Storm

Published: 28th August 2003
Chris Smith, operations director at Manchester-based broker Leasing Options, said: ‘The Mazda RX-8 is an excellent car. It looks good, drives well, handles superbly and has tremendous acceleration and fantastic braking. We have many personal contract purchase (PCP) customers and this car is a very attractive PCP proposition due to excellent residual values and wholelife costs which will be reflected in monthly payments. Also, because supply is tight, the Mazda RX-8 will be a very aspirational car for drivers.’

And Mark Baker, of Sussex-based car wholesalers Fleet Car Logic, commented: ‘It is the nearest car to perfection I have come across. It’s on my list. I can’t fault it. The performance thrilled me and I’m a car enthusiast. Value for money is superb.’

Mazda’s newly appointed fleet and remarketing director David McGonigle said: ‘Fleet decision-maker reaction to the Mazda RX-8 has been absolutely fantastic. We always believed the car would turn heads and fleets have confirmed that view. The car is set to star.

‘Mazda has already sold more cars to fleets in the first half of this year than in the whole of 2002 and with the Mazda RX-8’s arrival imminent and the Mazda3 lower medium sector car just around the corner our fleet share will continue to increase.’
