Ringways Motor Group Expands With Mazda
Published: 4th August 2003
With Mazda’s revised business operations in the UK, following its move from a distributor operation to a manufacturer-owned business in 2001, sales have boomed and so has its dealer network – the target is 156 dealers by 2005.
During the first six months of this year, Mazda’s UK sales are 48.28% higher than the same period last year at 18,738 and it has already exceeded its total UK sales for 2001.
Much of this growth has taken place because of the revised Mazda UK business operations under the Ford family banner. A range of highly-acclaimed, award-winning vehicles such as the Mazda6, Mazda2, and ever-popular MX-5 and 323 enhanced this summer by the stunning RX-8 four-seater sports car, supported by a very professional expanding dealer network where customer service is a core priority, has secured this notable success.
Ringways is a well-established family run business founded in 1955 by the late Robert R Roberts and son Brian Roberts. Even though the business has expanded beyond all recognition, it still remains a family affair with customer satisfaction a core priority.
Their initial venture into the motor industry was a petrol station and workshop in Lower Wortley, Leeds. In the early 1960s, Ringways became a Ford retailer and, following site re-development, they became a Ford main dealer in 1967.
Ringways now have two Ford main dealer dealerships and more than
200 employees. Their second dealership was opened in York Road,
Doncaster in 1974.
