Mazda Launches MX-5 Special Edition For Spring 2003

Mazda MX-5 Nevada

Mazda has launched a new special edition for 2003 from its iconic and hugely successful MX-5 range, the MX-5 Nevada. With two new unique metallic paint colours and a high specification list this car is set to turn heads this year, and starting at just £15,995, is great value for money.

The Mazda MX-5 Nevada is the latest in a long line of very popular special editions that are sufficiently different enough to make them highly prized vehicles.

Only 2,050 of these special models will be available in the UK, and with either the excellent 1.6 or spirited 1.8-litre engine and a choice of either cerion silver or strato blue, the Mazda MX-5 Nevada is set to be a much sought after vehicle.

The Mazda MX-5 Nevada gets a high specification list which includes unique new design 16" alloy wheels, dark blue or grey cloth soft top, colour matched soft top cover, two tone leather steering wheel, two tone leather gear knob, cloth trim as standard with the option of dark blue or grey leather, aluminium look centre panel, remote central locking, stainless steel scuff plate and wind blocker. The 1.8-litre model with leather trim is priced at just £16,995.

The Mazda MX-5 has sold in excess of 600,000 worldwide in the 13 years since introduction; it has outsold other popular sports cars and has been credited with being the car that re-ignited interest in the affordable sports car segment, leading to many manufacturers copying the classic design and front engine, rear wheel drive layout of the Mazda MX-5.

Popular for its looks and driving dynamics the Mazda MX-5 brought fun back into motoring; no longer were motorists enclosed in a tin box, there was the freedom to throw off the roof and enjoy the sunshine. Suddenly motoring became more than an ability to get from A to B and owners of MX-5s started driving just for fun, an emotion long forgotten.

Last year was an all-time record year for the Mazda MX-5 in the UK with sales exceeding 7,500. Already this year the car looks set for another record: January saw 555 sales versus 463 during the same period last year, an increase of 20%.

The Mazda MX-5 Nevada is available now from dealers.
