Mazda MX-5 Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary

Thanks to its engine performance and the elaborate chassis with double wishbone suspension for all four wheels, the Mazda MX-5 quickly earned the reputation of being a sports car with superior handling attributes.
For most Mazda owners, high speed and the 0-to-60mph times were not at the top of the list of important factors in buying the roadster. In fact, speed was secondary. Owning an ‘impractical’ roadster just for the joy of driving it was no longer a character flaw. Today it is possible to see that the Mazda MX-5 revived an entire market segment and inspired other carmakers to follow suit. Often copied but never equalled, the Mazda MX-5 has positively influenced an entire generation of drivers. And its history is still being written.
The Mazda MX-5 continues to delight men and women from all walks of life around the globe. The latest version is no exception. Mazda MX-5 model year 2004 features a new 16-inch alloy wheel design, new black cloth seat material, a new silver facia centre panel, a redesigned wind deflector with two new integrated audio speakers and three new body colours. These features enhance Mazda MX-5’s already high levels of interior comfort, driving pleasure and classic design language.
Mazda has also launched a new special edition for 2004, the Mazda MX-5 Euphonic, equipped with a premium Sony audio system featuring MP3 compatible CD player, six-disc CD auto-changer and six Sony high-clarity speakers. In Mazda showrooms now, the Mazda MX-5 Euphonic is priced from £16,500 on the road for the 1.6i model and £17,000 for the 1.8i model.
