Mazda6

Mazda have engineered the Mazda6 for exceptional ride stability, which includes special reinforcements around the front suspension towers and safety features which on the TS2 model include TCS (Traction Control System), DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) which assist the driver in maintaining optimum control in all situations. Only when pushed hard did the steering begin to lack feedback and the Mazda6 begins to lose its composure. However, this is to be expected as it is an executive saloon and not a sports car, none of this would present a problem under normal driving conditions.

Ease of Use

The Mazda6 is a very intuitive car to drive, visibility is generally good although because of design constraints it can be awkward to reverse into tight spaces.

The Mazda6's low swooping roofline doesn't make it the easiest of cars to get in and out of. But once you are installed the cabin is roomy with impressive head, leg and shoulder room in the front and rear.

The Mazda6 incorporates the innovative 'Karakuri' rear seats which fully flatten with the pull of a handle. The backrests are flattened, the seat is lowered slightly and a completely flat loading area appears and there is no need to pull up the seat bases or remove the headrests. A luggage net can also be fitted behind the rear seats to keep your cargo in place.

On a practical level the Mazda6 incorporates large door bins with bottle holders, map pockets in the rear of the front seats, an excellent lidded storage tray in the top of the dashboard, sunglasses pocket next to the steering wheel, illuminated lockable glove box with nine litre capacity, rear armrest incorporating 2 x cupholders and centre console incorporating 2 x cupholders. The front doors feature courtesy lights which illuminate the road or pavement as you step out of the car to light your way.

Safety and Security

The following safety & security equipment is standard on the Mazda6 2.0 TS2 Diesel:

ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), EBA (emergency brake assist), DSC (dynamic stability control), TCS (traction control system), High mounted stop lamp, Dual-stage front airbags (driver and passenger), Side airbags (front), Curtain airbags (front and rear), Passenger airbag cancellation system, Headrests and 3-point safety belts on all seats, Seat belt retractor with load limiter (front), Intrusion minimizing safety brake pedals, Whiplash minimizing headrest (front), ISOFIX child seat anchorages (rear), Space saver spare wheel, Immobiliser, Deadlocking and Thatcham category 1 alarm.
