Formula Woman Championship First Race This Weekend

The much-awaited all-woman race series
Formula Woman kicks off this weekend at Oulton Park, when 16 lucky
women will compete in Mazda RX-8 sports coupés around the famous
race circuit. The female drivers made it through from 10,000 applicants
to compete in four races this summer in the revolutionary Mazda RX-8
powered by a twin rotary engine.
Six months of gruelling assessment days with expert tuition from professional instructors, a rigorous fitness programme and coaching in motorsport rules and regulations has led to this exciting first race weekend. The Formula Woman races will be shown on ITV1 from Sunday 11 July. The second race will be at the Scottish Knockhill circuit on Sunday 27 July.
